HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER
August 4, 2023SCOPE OF WORK:
Ensures that Front office department is running efficiently and in accordance with the property’s policies and procedures and that customer satisfaction is maximized at all times
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
• Plan the work of housekeeping and distribute assignments accordingly and make the duty roster and assign leave according to occupancy. Inspect the team periodically for punctuality, attendance, quality and quantity of work
• Supervise all housekeeping employees and lead the department in order to achieve and maintain the highest standard in cleanliness, hygiene and comfort of all rooms, public areas, back of the house and restaurant
• Ensures department’s day-to-day operational efficiency by effective scheduling of shift and allocating work to resolve operation problems
• Inspects the VIP rooms daily; makes sure that they are properly set-up and cleaned
• Keep abreast of all industry innovations in cleaning techniques, preventive maintenance and cleaning product technology
• Co-ordinates with Front Office and Engineering Department on matters such as spring cleaning, fan coil cleaning etc., up-keeping the Residence building in the best possible shape
• Oversees the renovation of guest rooms and public areas and submits construction advice to the management
• Effectively manage cleaning supplies and equipment and recommend repair/replacement when needed. Approve all supply requisition for all resources. Control for Lost and Found items
• Monitors stock levels of departments and ensures efficient inventories
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance and cleaning schedules for all areas
• Develop training modules for technical training and co-ordinate with training department for behavioral training aspects
• Ensures that all employees under Housekeeping have updated job descriptions, appraisals and are given clear development opportunity guidelines
• Fully familiar with all procedures and local laws and to ensure that they are strictly adhered to
• Develops a sense of empowerment in all his/her staff
• Co-ordinates with Purchasing Assistant on comparison and negotiates on the quotation from supplier
• Monitors outside contractors to ensure contractual compliance.
• Ensure guest interaction and maintenance of the guest satisfaction index at the set standard
Budget:
• Produces department budget and develops strategies to ensure they are achieved
• Ensures capital expenditure is spent according to agreed timetable and controls the purchasing cycle
• Formulate, plan and budget the revenue and the costs of the Housekeeping department
Report:
• Check all reports and documents and their maintenance
• Prepare periodic or sudden reports as requests from the line manager
Others:
• Complete other tasks as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
• Working time: 48 hours/week
• Graduated from High School/College/University majoring in Hospitality Management
• From 3 years of experience in managing Housekeeping department, hotel/guest services field
• Office computer skills and effective communication
• Skilled in management, leadership, and team building with a customer-centric mindset
• Positive, cooperative and meticulous in work
